It is a place with much cooler temperatures, more rain and less sun mostly due to the fact that it’s located situated in the mountains. You’ll see the most beautiful places, waterfalls, volcanoes (Active) beaches, and sugar plantations. It is also the home of the Tsunami Museum. One of the most stunning things to see is Black Sand Beach (it’s black sand) situated in Punalu Beach. There’s as well Green Sand Beach. Downtown, you will find eating establishments, shopping malls cafes, theatres, restaurants, hotels and the Farmer’s Market.
Kona/Kailua – located on the west side of the island as night and day it is possible to be able to distinguish in these two. Kona is more of a touristy vibe. The principal road has been named Ali I drive, situated along the coast that runs along to the Bay of Kailua. There are cruise ships docked here. It’s more sunny and a lot warmer.
