Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States situated in the northeastern Caribbean. The island measures about 100 miles wide and 35 miles wide which makes it the tiniest member of the Greater Antilles. It is often referred to as “Island of Enchantment,” Puerto Rico is best known for its stunning scenery of mountains with tropical rainforest and waterfalls, complemented by beautiful beaches and Spanish-Caribbean tradition. The fun doesn’t end even after the sun sets as the music of live salsa and reggae is heard all night long in this largely domestic Caribbean destination.

When it comes to activities to do that you don’t want to skip, on the top of the list is a trip to Old San Juan, the second-oldest city in America and dotted by cobblestones of blue and vibrantly color-coated Colonial architecture. This city of history is a traveler’s dream due to its numerous historic places of interest and landmarks like Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristobal, Capilla del Cristo and more. Other important Puerto Rico sights are Mosquito Bay which is one of the world’s few bioluminescent bays, as well as La Factoria, where some believe the pinacolada was invented.

The Florida Keys

The Keys are located just to the south to the south of Florida Panhandle, the Florida Keys comprise tiny islands spread over an area of 198 square miles. The Keys can be reached by aircraft, car or boat and the most picturesque route to reach them is to travel on the Overseas Highway. While speedy drivers may have a hard time against the strict 55 mph speed limit this Overseas Highway is a modern marvel that’s worthy of the time due to the stunning panoramas of the serene sea below and the dazzling sky above.

There are plenty of interesting spots to stop in these Florida Keys, the most sought-after destination for vacationers in is Key West where the locals are interesting The food is excellent and water sports are plentiful. Some of the most well-known activities in the area are visiting the most southern point of America and snorkeling with marine life, Key West is also home to some of the most bizarre things to do. You can, for instance “cheers!” while in your birthday dress at Garden of Eden, a rooftop bar that is dress code-neutral situated on Duval Street, or see what happens in the dark on a spooky walking tour, while also visiting several of the islands’ most well-known haunted places.

Dry Tortugas

Seventy miles to the west of Key West sits Dry Tortugas National Park which is a 100-square-mile park that is comprised of seven tiny islands. The park’s most popular attraction can be Fort Jefferson, one of the largest forts from the 19th century, which is accessible to tourists to explore. In addition to its historic significance tourists also visit Dry Tortugas for its expansive coral reefs and the wide variety of birds.
